Have you heard of Rudolf Laban? This pioneer of modern dance developed a movement analysis that has proved invaluable to both dancers and dance teachers. Maggie Killingbeck’s workshop gives you insight into Laban’s movement toolbox: his theory of how a human body can move in terms of body, effort, shape and space is an essential basis for creating choreographies. Laban helps you observe and offers a wide range of possibilities for dance phrases, movements and improvisation techniques.
Maggie Killingbeck is among the leaders in the field of Laban’s technique and legacy. She has an enormous amount of experience as a Laban coach. She has led various dance courses at universities in the UK and is in demand as an examiner in dance courses. Maggie has been Chair of the Laban Guild for Movement and Dance since 2006.
