You will find the whole world in a single choreography by Difé Kako, Chantal Loïal’s company. The ensemble is made up of dancers and musicians with a multidisciplinary and multicultural background: from classical and jazz to contemporary and traditional repertoire from West Africa, Central Africa, Brazil, the West Indies and Guyana. They use these diverse ingredients to create a highly idiosyncratic choreographic vocabulary.
Do you also want to set up (artistic or educational) projects in which different cultures meet? Find out at this workshop how Loïal and Difé Kako go about it: gain a unique insight into their working process based on various fragments from their repertoire.
Chantal Loïal has danced with companies such as Montalvo-Hervieu and Les Ballets C de la B, and has led Difé Kako for more than 20 years. Besides creating choreographies, she enjoys sharing her passion for dance at all kinds of workshops. In March 2015 she was awarded the prestigious French Legion of Honour for her work.
This workshop consists of two sessions of two hours. You can also sign up for the same workshop to be held on Thursday 23/08.
