Slowness, comfort, restraint, rest… these might not be terms you immediately associate with movement. Nonetheless, they are important elements of the Feldenkrais method. Feldenwhat? Feldenkrais! It is a way of treating physical and psychological problems through body movements. You learn to ‘reprogram’ your body, as it were: no more bad habits and blockages! Feldenkrais will help you use your body more efficiently and intelligently, putting less stress on your muscles and joints. This workshop will make you more aware of your posture and patterns of movement so that you can expand your repertoire of poses.
Natacha Nicora was born in Argentina in 1980, but her career has been in Belgium with Les Ballets C de la B, Arne Sierens and Tristero. She has also ventured into the visual arts and “trash poetry”. In 2007 she came into contact with the Feldenkrais method, which was a revelation: “The Feldenkrais method has not just taken away the pain in my body: it has also given me a lot of freedom for my body and my creativity. If you know what you are doing, you can do whatever you want.”
