Yoga Disco Star is a melting pot of practices from differing extremes: from introspection to extravagance, considering the inner experience, the imaginary and the language as tools for work. We will explore speaking, singing, and interpretations of verbal instructions into movement. These exercises will be done individually and in a group, zapping from one vocabulary to another – yoga, disco, speech, singing, mime, letting go and controlling – being guided by pleasure and playfulness in all we do.
Yair Barelli (IL) currently lives and works in Paris. He followed the CDC program in Toulouse as well as the CNDC Angers in France. He’s been developing a multidisciplinary choreographic practice that explores the theatre’s materiality. He creates his performances in interaction with the audience, introducing a unique experience on each occasion. His work is presented in various theaters and art centers in France and abroad. He is working with choreographers such as Marlène Monteiro Freitas, Tino Sehgal, Christian Rizzo and Jérôme Bel.
