Jacob Storer – Articulated Anatomies

When anatomy and senses come together

Together with Jacob Storer you will delve into contemporary dance with an anatomical approach based on weight transfer to activate coordinations within your body and to move with uninhibited ease. The focus is on moving with dynamic alignment and physical integrity. Experimenting with consciousness and sensory perception both individually and in groups, the workshop builds up to a movement phrase where all these principles come together and which fosters the connection between your inner self and the environment that surrounds you. 

Jacob Storer graduated from P.A.R.T.S in 2016 and joined the Trisha Brown Dance Company a year later. He was involved in creating choreographies with Rosas for West Side Story on Broadway in 2019, and subsequently also danced with the company. He is currently based in Brussels, where he teaches and works as a performer and dramaturge on various projects. He previously taught at Charleroi Danse (Brussels), NYU Tisch School of the Arts (New York), Mimar Sinan Güzel Sanatlar Üniversitesi (Istanbul) and P.A.R.T.S. (Brussels).
