Theo Clinkard – Unsettling

Let your movements be guided by touch and imagination

Through a dialogue between your body and your imagination you foster an exchange from the inside to the outside and back. You explore feelings, sensations and behavior – first through duo exercises and then in a group session, that is both embodied and expressive. This inclusive workshop runs at a leisurely pace and is not physically demanding. Unsettling is suitable for anyone who feels comfortable with gentle touch, who is curious about performing and who likes to work in groups.

Englishman Theo Clinkard works internationally as a choreographer, theater designer, performer, mentor and teacher. He has had a career as a dancer spanning more than twenty years. He makes creations for his own company as well as for Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch, Danza Contemporánea de Cuba and Candoco Dance Company. He is currently working on the performance Village, based on the work of the Flemish painter Pieter Bruegel the Elder. Theo is fascinated by the communicative power of the moving body and the empathetic potential of dance. He gives workshops worldwide and is an Associate Artist at Brighton Dome & Festival and an Honorary Fellow at Plymouth University.
