The flying low technique, developed by David Zambrano, mainly focuses on the relationship between the dancer and the floor. It makes use of simple movement patterns that involve breathing, speed and the release of energy throughout the body. It not only activates and connects your center and your joints, it also makes you move in and out of the ground more efficiently. But can you transfer the flying low technique to children? And how? That was the question that Swiss born performer Florian Vuille, Belgian dancer Anne-Lore Baekeland and two groups of boys between 7 and 12 years tackled during six months.
This workshop will consist of 4 hours of intensive training in flying low technique and one hour in which Florian and Anne-Lore share their experience in working with children.
Florian Vuille got his bachelor in physical theater in 2010 at the Scuola Teatro Dimitri, Switzerland, and started working as a clown in several circuses in Europe. In 2013, he moved to Brussels and left the circus rings for dance floors. He studied Flying Low and Passing Through with David Zambrano, assisted him and performed with him. Together with Paola di Bella, Vuille formed the company Beauty Beast. He teaches dance for children since 2017, a.o. for Bal Spécial with Anne-Lore Baekeland.
