Michaela Mirtová – When feeling and movement meet

In this workshop, you will gain insight into the development of a creative process and work with fragments from an existing dance performance. In Besi, a choreography by curator Milan Tomášik, the dancers seek the essence of beauty, but the road turns out to be full of shortcuts, dead ends and sharp bends. A quest in which you inevitably also come face to face with the ugliness and the beast in yourself. The makers drew their inspiration for the performance not only from movement, but also from literature and art.

Together with the participants in this workshop, dancer Michaela Mirtová makes variations on the Besi choreography. She lets everyone improvise, play, feel, move and share in their own way. She herself describes it as: “moving with playful feelings and playing with sensational movement”. Join the search and find beauty and joy, ugliness and doubt in movement!

Michaela Mirtová is a professional dancer at the Slovak theatre and dance studio Divadlo Štúdio tanca. She trains the dancers in the company, gives movement classes to children and guides contemporary dance workshops. Her personal dance language, which she developed during the 20 years of her dance journey, includes a lot of floor work, up-side-down positions and improvisations.
