From a subtle body to the extreme – Alejandro Moya

In this workshop you will discover how malleable your body is: from subtle changes to intense metamorphoses. Starting out from the anatomy of your body, you learn to discover hidden emotions and to express them physically. You will gain insight into your individual physical qualities and how you can use them to the fullest.

The questions Alejandro Moya wants to tackle with you are very broad: how can you integrate techniques from osteopathy into dance education? What acrobatic techniques lend themselves best to different bodies and circumstances? What is dance-theater? How can you use different skills to develop your own dramatic language? How can you physically create completely different characters, each with their own story and interrelationships?

Alejandro Moya began breakdancing in the streets when he was barely 10 years old. Soon he was invited to dance all over the world and he received awards in the U.S., Switzerland, England, South Korea and China, among others. Since 2006, his crew Fusion Rockers – which has won many important competitions – has been a reference in the breakdance world. In 2009, at the age of 16, he joined the company Dani Pannullo Dance Theatre with which he toured the world. A year later, he began studying contemporary dance at the Madrid Conservatory, where he learned classical and modern dance, as well as improvisation, yoga and music. Afterwards he was part of Sharon Fridman’s company Projects in Movement, Company KORSIA, Company Antonio Ruz and the Belgian Peeping Tom. As a teacher, he has given dance workshops in various countries such as Germany, Italy, Israel and Singapore.
