More and more dancers and companies are improvising live on stage. And improvisation can be a powerful tool in dance classes too: as a source of new material, to create cohesion between members of a group or to increase your students’ self-confidence. It can even help students to get the hang of certain technical movements better. Siri Clinckspoor introduces you to improvisation as an educational method. You will learn how to use elements of improvisation in the lessons you teach in a light-footed way, without it being intimidating or too great a leap.
Siri Clinckspoor graduated at SEAD (Experimental Academy of Dance) in Austria and holds an MA in Dance Pedagogy (MA CoDE). She worked as a freelance dancer and movement pedagogue for schools and festivals all over in Europe. She currently works as a dance-therapist in Belgium.
This workshop consists of two sessions of two hours.
