What do you see if you turn your head? – Andrea Keiz

Andrea Keiz uses perception as a source for movement improvisation. It’s an active process that leads us to physical choices in dance and in the image production in the dance field. In this workshop we start from the body and reflect on how we perceive. That way we will develop a playful journey through a landscape full of well-known and new movements. The use of a frame (for example: a camera) supports our journey. In the morning we move to awake the senses. In the afternoon we focus on how to translate sensorial experiences to imag(e)ination. No previous experience in video making is required.

Andrea Keiz (DE) is a teacher of dance improvisation. Since 2000 she has worked as a freelance artist in the field of video documentation of performing arts. Besides filming and editing, she advises students in documentation, camera work and archiving in several dance programs in Germany as well as offering workshops in video/dance and perception.
