The Franklin method®
We have had to cancel this workshop at the last minute, unfortunately. Gilles Cherix cannot come to Belgium because of the corona rules in Switzerland. A code red warning has been issued for Belgium by Switzerland, which means that anyone from there who comes here then has to go into quarantine for two weeks on return.

How to move your body and keep it youthful and energized? How to find the ideal balance between limbs, joints, gravity, moving parts, connective tissue and muscle? That is what the Franklin Method® is all about. It sees your body as part of a symphony, a coordinated movement, in which your posture is constantly being reinvented and directed by your brain and nervous system. Whatever style or technique you practice or prefer, the Franklin Method® offers useful insights for every dancer.
Nausikàa started taking ballet classes from the age of six in her hometown of Basel. Later, she deepened her knowledge in Zurich and in 1992 she obtained her diploma as a gymnastics teacher. When she came across Eric Franklin, she felt totally convinced by his way of working. She decided to become a professional Franklin Method® Teacher and teaches at her own studio in Chur (Switzerland).
For this workshop, she will be assisted by Gilles Cherix. After studying engineering, he made a 180° turn to devote himself to work on consciousness, particularly through the Franklin Method®. Since then, he has been promoting the method in the French-speaking world through the translation of training material and the organisation of courses and training sessions.

Workshop op 21 August: Pelvic Power, move from your center
‘Pick up your center.’ ‘Engage your core.’ These instructions are very common in dance or yoga lessons, but what do they actually mean? After this workshop, you will never doubt about them again! Discover how to move with less muscle tension and how to increase the comfort and safety of the lower back, knees, and hips. Nausikàa and Gilles will teach you exercises to balance the pelvis, release the lower back and improve posture. You’ll get to know all about the biomechanics of the pelvis and hip joint and how to increase their strength and flexibility.
